Getting Close

Earlier this week I finished drafting Mystic Knight (Knights of Kilbourne 6), and completed all the pre-editing I normally do before shipping it off to the editor. I was not in love with the ending, and neither was my DW. I re-wrote it two more times, but nothing passed muster. Finally DW provided excellent insight and inspiration, and the final chapter was completed to our mutual satisfaction.

So now the manuscript is in the hands of my editor, Nikki Andrews, who worked with me on books one through four. Nikki graciously agreed to put her extremely busy retirement on hold so she could take another trip to Kilbourne, and I am so grateful and thrilled to be working with her again. She knows how I write, and she "gets" what I do with the stories, and we make a great team, put out a book we can both be proud of.

I've also been getting my ducks in a row with regards to cover art. Because the publisher of my first five books shut down, I'll be doing book six on my own, and so everything is a learning experience. I'm fortunate to have the services of Sevannah Storm, who did the artwork for book five, on board to bring continuity to Mystic Knight.

I'm excited to bring this next adventure into the world soon. For those of you who enjoy my tales of Morgan and Marissa (and Wyvrndell, of course), it is coming, hopefully not long after the new year. Huzzah!!!
